Jim's cityscape

  1. Jim, I'm so pleased to see this. This one is so much more interesting to look at than your previous one, and I can tell you worked from observation this time. While for the most part the perspective looks very convincing. the building on the far left (under the tower) looks slightly off. I think it has to do with the angle of the top edge of the roof. Also, the tower itself: I think you should re-sight the angle of the top edge of the left side of that building. And maybe the KFC sign is slightly off. I love the way you did the dome, how you didn't put an outline up there -- it's so much more convincing this way. And the buses and cars are very impressive! I wonder if you worked form imagination on those?? Really nice work.

  2. This is great, Jim! I love the rendering style, it has a sketchy feel yet still has convincing value. The busses and cars are so well done, I feel like I could reach in and grab them!

  4. The lines you use in this painting are rough, which is in harmony with the style of your street.

  6. I definitely can tell him that he drew it by on observation and the details are really good. I can see that the drawing of the cityscape is china and I think it is really great.

  9. Your city looks so detail and realistic. Add more shadow, it would be better for me.
