Helen's cityscape

  1. Helen, this is a wonderful cityscape drawing. You managed to create something that looks like a quaint little fishing village -- it has a lot of character! The perspective looks good except for one thing: the rectangular building in the back to the left of the tower looks like it's leaning rightward. This is because your verticals aren't vertical. I really like waht you did to suggest the bright light falling on the buildings in the back, and how those in the far distance get very faint and blurry. Excellent work!

  5. You inspire me in your handling of architecture from near and far, and I love the lines you draw in shadows and patterns.

  7. The composition is really dynamic! And I love how you do with the distant buildings. They fade away from our sight which works so well.

  9. I love the lines and shadows you use in this drawing! This drawing gives me a feeling that it is an illustration for a fairytale book! Also, your perspective technique creates a sense of distance, which makes the drawing cinematic. I love it so much!
