Taylor sound drawing

  1. Taylor, this is an intriguing piece -- very mysterious. While all the droplets and concentric ring elements are suggestive of rain to me, the rest of the elements suggest a more complex narrative. Visually, I find the angular section at the top especially interesting, as well as the handprints at the bottom (which do take the piece more into representation, but still...). One thing I might like to see is more color in the middle. Even if the overall palette remained red, you could still have some light spray of different hues to make the red more complex. That said, the red is suggestive of some kind of violence, but the overall composition doesn't look violent. I'm curious to hear what sound you were thinking of.

  2. This is very captivating, Taylor. It reminds me of the early cave paintings in France- very primal and elemental, with a spiritual energy. The pyramid shape in the back also reminds me of prehistoric times. Maybe your sound was something relating to man shaping nature? Very nice work!

  3. I really like this piece, Taylor! I know you told me what the sound was, but I won't spoil it for everyone else, but all I'll say is that I think you've captured it perfectly in terms of the sound. Compositionally, I think you could add a little bit more of the white shapes to give it more variety. Other than that, great job!
