Nancy, this piece suggests to me a strong gust of wind. The tumbling oval shapes give the drawing a great sense of movement, but my favorite part is the diagonal bands in the center. These are so subtle, but they do create a powerful sense of directional thrust. While I like the color scheme, I wish the dark red areas were slightly less dark. You could soften these by going over them with a fine mist of white ink. I'm very curious to know what the sound is here!
I think you did a great job with this piece, Nanxi. The composition is interesting and well balanced, it really engages the eye. Those saturated areas of red really add variety and interest to the work. I honestly cannot find any suggestions to give, I love it as is! Great work!
