Lee, this is a very compelling drawing. I love the softness of the background, and how those lighter circles seem to be receding into space. The overall composition suggests some kind of explosive sound -- something quite loud. I can't be sure exactly what it is. Not only is this drawing very suggestive of sound, it is also quite strong visually, compositionally. One thing you might want to think about is varying the scale of that circular element. If some of them were smaller, we would get even more of a sense of their recession into space.
Wow, I think you nailed this, Lee. I think it relates greatly to those spray ink drawings wee saw in class. It seems like it may be a sound that is reverberating or echoing in space. It is definitely evocative of a fast sound. I also like the texture of the paper, it adds a nice "white noise" effect to the piece.
