Christina, this piece is reminiscent of the Arthur Dove painting I showed as an example (the foghorns), but it's much more abstract and multi-layered. I would guess that this is some kind of repeating bell or horn sound where each successive ring or blow overlaps with the fading sound of the one before. My favorite part is the contrast between the soft red elements in the center and the harder-edge blue and black elements. My only suggestion might be to go over the white areas with a light wash of some color (light blue? grey?) so they don't look so flat. The atmospheric quality of the layered hues is really nice.
Wow, I love this Christina! It is so emotional and sentimental, I feel it would speak to people of all walks of life. I especially appreciate the contrast of the dulled-down red and the electric blue. To me, I can hear a soulful instrument, maybe a violin or piano. You should definitely make more of these!
I love the forms in this piece, Christina! The shapes that you've given to this sound really capture the eye, with the choice of vibrant blues and these scarlet reds. I picture that this sound is some form of instrument. Other than that, great work!
