Yunxin, I'm not sure what tool you used for this piece, but it looks a lot like a brush (was it hair?). This also looks like a female figure cropped on the sides. Since you do female figures a lot, I'd like to see you experiment with other kinds of form. I'd also like to see more variation in terms of mark-making. It's really important to branch out from what you're already good at. Let's see if you can push yourself in the next assignment and do something that's fully abstract and different from your usual.
This is very interesting, Yunxin. You've captured a battle between the feminine form and the somewhat grotesque posing of it and heavy line work. It is a captivating dynamic. Your decision to omit the head of the form is also interesting, perhaps speaking to the male/female gaze. I think you could have been a bit more expressive in your walks, maybe with some splashes or wet on wet drops.
I do agree with what Taney said. I think it looks like a female figure for me. I think he could have drawn different subjects like abstract art. Since Yunxin is good at drawing female figures in his style, I think you could try other things! However, I like how he used lines to make this drawing, and I think the lines look elegant!
