Taylor, this is great! I love the use of blues and purples, plus that singular black shape just makes it stand out so much. I think that one thing you could do for the sea (I think that's what it is) is to perhaps blend the colors a bit more. It looks sort of scribbly if that makes sense, but you can easily use your finger and blend it. Also, maybe add more dark colors to the sea and sky as well. But I think you did a great job!
Taylor, first, what a mysterious image! I love the black shape in the middle (it looks a bit like a Chinese character). As far as a dominant hue goes, I'm not sure I can identify one. It looks like you have two dominant hues: yellow and blue. I wonder what would happen if you brought some of that blue up into the yellow and the yellow into the blue. That might unify everything with a rich, interesting green. My favorite part of this drawing is the loose mark-making in the sky. This is really terrific, and your colors there become quite complex. In just about every other area, though, I think you need more colors. In the blue, for example, I'd love to see some hints of orange and green and yellow and even red -- not much, but something to inflect that blue with other hues. I would love to see the original photograph here -- such a deeply compelling image.
This is a really beautiful piece, Taylor! It has a dreamy, magical feeling. I love the yellow sky with sun rays, although I think it does confuse me a bit in terms of what the dominant color is. I would recommend that you play around with cropping because as-is, the horizon line being right in the middle of the plane is a little jarring and unnatural. It is really nice how it curves however. Your expressive marks in the water are also enjoyable, great job overall!
I really like the vibe and the atmosphere you creative. I love the vibrant color of water and sky, sitting right next to the dark colored architecture gives me a very strong visual impression, in which I liked it a lot.
