Vivian Cubism 1

  1. Vivian, I'm not exactly sure what your object is, but I can tell it's the same thing seen from multiple angles. Your space shapes look very consistent with the object, and I like that you've let them be a little curvy like the edges of your object. And the range of values is terrific. The challenge will be for you to cut the drawings up and recompose the pieces in such a way that we'll be able to tell what the object is to some extent. It can be subtle (you can make us work at it!), but we should be able to figure it out. Really terrific, dynamic compositions with these -- see if you can retain that in the collage.

  2. I love how fluid and organic these shapes are, Vivian! They are very well integrated throughout the piece, in the background and the object, as is your range of values. I love the shapes left white. Can't wait to see the collage!

  3. Vivian, I really like your works, they always look clear and creative. I guess the object may be a retro hexagonal lantern. I especially like the second one, it looks like you put the object in a tornado.

  4. I think you have done a great job. I really like the cleanness of your drawings. Also the shapes and shadings looks very well done.

  5. I love how you draw the geometric shapes in the background of your work. I can see gradient and a good contrast. They makes your works more interesting and elegant. The object blending in the background is mysterious but I can still see it clearly. Terrific work!

  6. this is kind of simple but also so cool at the same time. this feels very flowy and in a way it kind of feels like all these currents going in all these different directions at the same time. i think i would love to se more of darker colors through out the image
