Jim, because these are so loosely drawn it's hard to tell exactly what we're looking at. I think you should make things a little clearer before you proceed to the collage. You can certainly go for a loose look with the collage, but you need to start with more clarity in order for us to be able to tell what your object is after you've scrambled all the shapes. Also, I think you need more of a range of values. This will make the collage look much more dynamic.
I really enjoy the painterly feel here, Jim! I think it might be nice to incorporate some really dark shapes, especially on the periphery of the pieces. Maybe using some compressed charcoal to get an even, dark tone.
Your works are really interesting, Jim! I think you can extend the linear lines to the edges of the paper which may make your work looks more complete.
The second work on the right is my favorite! I like the felling of wash painting in your works, and I think the scale is also good. But maybe you can make the background of the bottom left one more complete.
i think this interesting. it kind of seems like your lines and shading are like hiding the object in plane sight. this kind reminded me of a sketch for a high tech city. honestly its kind of like action scenes to me. I wouldn't really be able to explain to you how I see it but I do and I love it.
