Christina Cubism 2

  1. Christina, I really like what you did with this. The color works very well with the black and white drawings, and the objects are cut up and pieced together in a compelling way. I can certainly see recurring motifs (the circle, the tree ring-like pattern, etc.). One thing that confuses me is the green frame around the rest. Is that part of the piece, or is that tape holding down your collage? If it's part of the piece, I think it should be perfectly rectangular (i.e., with 90 degree angles). The way it is here looks awkward to me. Other than that I have no suggestions -- I think you did a really good job.

  2. Christina, this is awesome! As soon as I saw it, it reminded me of Picasso, with the bright colors and the use of light and dark. I think you've evenly distributed the black and white with the color, and it works tremendously. I personally like the frame, but if you decide to trim it, it will still look good. Great job!

  3. I think this is very successful, Christina! It's like a portal to a Doctor Seuss inspired world. I especially think the repeating motifs help tie it all together, like those striped areas and the pops of blue. I think the frame could be improved by having an overlap on the top left corner that would mirror the overhang on the bottom right. Great work!

  5. I really like your color and the composition of this work, it looks exact cubism to me. However, I personally would prefer the one without dark lines or tap around it.
