Lee Cubism 2

  1. Lee, you certainly have the right idea here. It looks very Cubist! I like the inclusion of the text fragments and the way you've drawn back over the collage pieces. While most of it looks like a still life seen in fragments from multiple angles, I think the wine glass in the center should be further abstracted (or broken up). This looks a little too literal. You could add some shapes to cover part of the glass -- and then maybe add some more fragments of the wine glass elsewhere in the composition. Overall, really nice job.

  2. This is great, Lee! I love the pieces of Korean text interspersed and the yellow tones. I can definitely make out the forms, I would agree with Professor Roniger that the objects could be further collaged on top of or broken up with lines. The composition is great, you've really activated the space.

  3. Wow!!!!! I say wow!! This is a very perfect collage homework! I think you are very good at using integrated materials for homework. For example, you used at least four different kinds of paper in this painting, which is very good!!

  4. I like how you stick some newspapers or books on it. I would recommend if you can put some larger letters or words as you did in your previous works.

  5. the idea is great. the added news paper and new drawn parts just add a lot of flow to this picture. the texture with all of this might just be my favorite part of this.
